Come join the Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail for its Signs of Spring nature walk on the floodplain in the area of the planned multi-use trail! Wildlife signs, spring plants and ecological features will be sought out and interpreted by Pete Bowman and Chris Kane. Pete is an ecologist with the NH Natural Heritage Bureau and a Concord resident. Chris is chair of the FMRGT Board of Trustees and a consulting ecologist. Park near the trail head which is next to the river behind ConvenientMD (8 Loudon Road, Concord, NH 03301). Participants should bring seasonal clothing in layers, footwear appropriate for a variety of conditions, binoculars (if desired), water and insect repellent (if desired). Terrain will be level and the hike difficulty is easy to moderate. Unfortunately, dogs are discouraged, as they can disturb wildlife.
