Bridges that improve safety and extend the trail like the one pictured above only happen with your help. Please make a donation today, Giving Tuesday, to the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail. In Bradford a month ago we had footings in place, steel had arrived and we were working to get the steel placed. Over the last three weekends the beams went in, the deck was put on and the railings completed. But the weather has worked against us so the final grade and top surface may not go in until snow melts in the spring. In Contoocook we did some clearing. In Davisville we marked the new trail location, cleared brush, installed silt fence and the weather closed in. We are working hard to get the subsurface roughed in over the next couple of weeks and will be putting down final top surface in the spring. This should create good cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling for the winter. A good walking and biking surface will go down as soon as the weather allows. We continue to raise funds to build this 2.5 mile section of trail in Concord from Carter Hill Rd to Fisherville Rd. We have support from the Bureau of Trails, New England Grassroots Environmental Fund, Central NH Bicycle Coalition, and Goodales Bike Shops. With your help this section will go down in the late spring of 2019.
Please donate today. Comments are closed.
