It's Giving Tuesday
You, your friends, and community members from the region and beyond are creating an Amazing Rail Trail. Donate this Giving Tuesday to keep it going. What makes the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail so special? We didn't have a state owned railroad corridor to build on - so your neighbors started donating easements so the trail could be built. We couldn't afford paid management - so your neighbors donated their time and expertise to get easements written, organize projects, rally community support, and get ready to build. We didn't have huge grants to get us started - so you and your neighbors donated the money to get us started. To keep construction costs low we asked for volunteer help. Again you and your neighbors stepped in and contributed your time, materials and equipment. And now that we are working on larger projects an anonymous donor has challenged us to raise $50,000 and they will match it. Amazing! This truly is a project that is succeeding because you, your neighbors and all of us in the community believe in the vision of a 34 mile rail trail connecting Concord, Hopkinton, Warner, Sutton, Bradford and Newbury. We continue to raise funds to build this 2.5 mile section of trail in Concord from Carter Hill Rd to Fisherville Rd. We have support from the Bureau of Trails, New England Grassroots Environmental Fund, Central NH Bicycle Coalition, Runners Alley, Bangor Savings Bank, and Goodales Bike Shops. But we need more to get the job done. We've been clearing brush all fall and working to establish parking on Fisherville Rd. We are trying to have this open for snowshoeing and X-C skiing and snowmobiling this winter. Please donate today. Comments are closed.
