Dear New England Nordic Community, Flying Further is pleased to be holding its second annual Christmas Nordic Combined Camp at the Proctor/Blackwater Ski Area on Sunday and Monday, December 29th and 30th. The main focus of the camp is Nordic Combined but we are also encouraging special jumpers and cross-country skiers to participate in the camp. The camp is open to all ages and all abilities. We plan to use all the jumps for the camp which are the k10, K18, K30, and K38 as long as Mother Nature cooperates. The coaches for the camp are: Walter Malmquist and Tom Oddy on the K10 and K18 and Chris Jones and Chip Henry on the K30 and K38. Maddy Pfeifer will be the cross-country coach. The schedule for the camp follows for both Sunday and Monday:
Morning 9:00 a.m. Check-in, warm-up, and stretching 9:30 to 11:30 Morning Jumping session on K10, K18, K30, and K38 11:30 to 1:00 Lunch and review of the morning session with coaches. The snack bar will be open for lunch or you can bring your own bag lunch. Afternoon 1:00 to 3:00 Cross-country session 1:00 to 3:00 Afternoon Jumping session on K10, K18, K30, and K38 for Special Jumpers The cost for the camp follows: Full camp that includes two training sessions each day: $20 per day for a total of $40 One session per day of either jumping or cross-country: $15 per day for a total of $30 Fees for the camp cover the Proctor hill and trail fees of $8 per day and coaching fees. There is no cost for Flying Further and AOC athletes as their memberships include the Proctor Ski Area fees and coaching fees for the camp. We encourage athletes to participate in both days of the camp. However, if holiday schedules preclude participating both days, single day participation is still encouraged. Please sign-up for the Christmas Camp by responding to this email to Bill McCrillis by Friday, December 27th and include the following information: Name, age, club or high school, and what sessions (and size jump if jumping) skier is signing up for.
